Review: The Dirty Work Tour Feat. All Time Low

All Time Low performed at Best Buy Theatre in New York City on May 5th with co headliners Yellowcard, Hey Monday and The Summer Set. The three other bands got the crowd started but when All Time Low took the stage the fans went wild. Their performance was fun, entertaining and full of energy as always. They are a band who truly give it their all at shows. They opened with Time Bomb, a track off their upcoming new album “Dirty Work” which comes out on June 7th. It was during the first song that fans began throwing bras and other items including a doll on stage. The bras (which are hung on Zack and Jack’s microphones) are a tradition at All Time Low concerts.

Alex and Jack engage the crowd with jokes and conversation during breaks from songs. Alex claims that New York is the horniest but best crowd and then challenges them to a circle pit, which is a challenge the fans eagerly accept. When a tampon is thrown on stage Jack jokes that it fell out while he was playing. Zack is more withdrawn than the other two and does not partake in many jokes.

Alex covers Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” acoustically while excited fans sing along. This leads into an acoustic version of “Remembering Sunday” and to the crowds delight Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday joins Alex for the female duet at the end of the song.

A serious moment occurs when Alex muses on recent events in America and dedicates their next song “Therapy” to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.

The somber moment does not last long because after that song the boys are back to their antics, throwing their guitars to each other and tossing the bras around stage and to the crowd during their closing songs “Weightless” and “Dear Maria.”

Overall the show was like a nonstop party onstage and in the crowd. All Time Low does a great job and keeps the energy high from start to finish.
